Self Preservation

Recently it’s been on my mind to start meditating. Not in the sense of looking for spiritual guidance or deeper meaning. I want to do it for self perseverance. The mind is such a fragile and easily manipulated organ that it becomes a talent to understand yourself.

My starting routine is to take a 15 minute period and put a timer on my phone. I do what I can to remove distractions, sit, and focus on one point. The goal is to focus on your breathing for 15 minutes. Your mind will wonder and that’s okay. Your goal is to exercise your mind to come back to focusing on breathing and being in that precise moment.

Observation is a critical tool in life for decision making, I’ve discovered. I hope this inspires you to take time for just yourself and only yourself because you deserve it.
